Proudly Serving Families When They Need it Most
Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro is proud to serve families through our Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park, our two Ronald McDonald Family Rooms in Stony Brook, and our Hospitality Cart program. As an organization, we are dedicated to providing support and comfort to families when their children are sick or injured in the hospital. Our partner hospitals are Cohen Children’s Medical Center and Stony Brook Children’s. Our mission is rooted in compassion, through which we offer a safe and welcoming place where families can heal. We help families find strength and hope during some of their toughest times.
A Commitment to Care
2024 was a remarkable year. It’s all thanks to the incredible generosity of our donors, community, and volunteers. Here’s a look at how we helped families:
We had the privilege of serving 12,855 families across RMHC NY Metro—nearly double the number from 2022. In Stony Brook alone, we supported 2,233 families. None of this would have been possible without the dedication and love of our 10,000+ volunteers.
This incredible growth in volunteerism—up from 2,830 in 2022—speaks to the growing heart of our community and the unwavering support we continue to receive. Your unwavering support makes a world of difference, and we are deeply grateful for each and every one of them.

“2024 was a year of remarkable growth! We were able to reach more families through our expanded in-hospital care programs, particularly the Ronald McDonald Hospitality Cart at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. Family-centered care continues to drive our mission, and we could not do it without our compassionate community throughout the New York Metro and Long Island region.”

Our purpose is rooted in serving families, and the impact of our work is felt deeply, from the individuals we care for to the number of nights families spent finding comfort and support at the Ronald McDonald House. We couldn’t do any of it without our amazing volunteers!
