Sameer Chopra, founding partner at the personal injury law firm Chopra & Nocerino, has been selected as this year’s 2025 Annual Gala honoree. Chopra is the sole Gala honoree by Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) New York Metro in recognition of his outstanding contributions to both the legal profession and the community. Chopra was honored at the 2025 Annual Ronald McDonald House Gala on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at The Garden City Hotel.
In addition to being recognized as this year’s honoree, Chopra & Nocerino served as the Gala’s Premier Sponsor, pledging $100,000 to further RMHC New York Metro’s mission. This sponsorship underscores Chopra’s belief in giving back to the community, ensuring that the evening directly benefited families who rely on RMHC’s programs.
Fighting for Families
Ronald McDonald House’s honoree, Sameer Chopra, is celebrated for both his outstanding legal achievements and his unwavering dedication to serving the community. Beyond courtroom victories, Chopra has made it a personal mission to support families in need through charitable initiatives that reach across New York and beyond. He has partnered with cancer research organizations and backed programs that provide essential resources and hope to families facing hardship. As this year’s Gala honoree, he will help further RMHC New York Metro’s mission of “keeping families close” when children require critical healthcare.
“I don’t do this work for the recognition. Giving back is simply a part of who I am,” said Chopra. “My family, my firm, and I believe deeply in supporting children and families during their most difficult times. Being honored is humbling, but what matters most is helping Ronald McDonald House Charities continue its incredible mission.”
Under Chopra’s leadership, Chopra & Nocerino has become a strong force for good in the community, consistently giving back through matched donations and ongoing philanthropic partnerships. The firm has launched and supported fundraising for Angelman Syndrome research, contributed annually to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and sponsored charitable events to ensure families never face the financial burden of treatment for catastrophic childhood diseases.
Chopra & Nocerino also supports local and international initiatives, from organizing a record-breaking Thanksgiving Day turkey giveaway in Brooklyn and holiday events with the New York Mets for children in foster care, to providing food and school supplies for underserved children in India through the Smile Foundation. Together, these efforts reflect a lifetime of commitment to serving children and families in critical need. The firm’s premier-level sponsorship of the 2025 Ronald McDonald House Gala continues this legacy of philanthropy, blending recognition with meaningful impact.
Putting Families at the Heart of Care
RMHC New York Metro has been providing vital care and support to the families of children receiving medical care across Long Island for nearly 40 years. Its programs, including the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park, along with Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms and Hospitality Carts at Cohen Children’s Hospital and Stony Brook Children’s Hospital, serve more than 12,000 families annually, helping them stay close during medical challenges. A new Ronald McDonald House is being built at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital starting in 2027. The charity’s mission is simple but powerful: to remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.
“We’re grateful for the support and passion from Chopra & Nocerino in helping us take care of our families as they deal with a pediatric medical crisis,” said Matt Campo, CEO of Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro. “Sameer has been a long champion for individuals that require legal assistance and an advocate for people that require help within their community. His passion for service manifests in community-building efforts across the five boroughs and overseas, we are excited to be the recipient of his dedication to help those in need, that will help continue our mission of providing essential services that remove barriers, strengthen families, and promote healing when children need healthcare.”
This year’s Gala theme is “A New Way to Party.” Guests are encouraged to dress in glamour—glitter, furs, gowns, jewels—and bring their generosity. All proceeds from the evening will go directly to RMHC New York Metro’s programs that ensure families with sick or injured children can receive care without additional stress.
