Harrison and Cooper Layacan are twins who were born nine years ago at Cohen Children’s Medical Center. They have grown up to embody kindness and a spirit of giving. Their parents stayed at Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park for 35 days when Harrison and Cooper were born in 2015. RMHC families like the Layacans experience the comforts of home while being just steps away from their babies in the NICU. Harrison and Cooper grew to learn the positive impact RMHC had on their family. In March, they decided to raise money for families like theirs, with a lemonade stand in their hometown of Roslyn.
This dynamic duo sold ice-cold lemonade and chips for $2 each. Folks on Main St. in Roslyn loved it which resulted in the boys raising enough money to contribute to RMHC in a big way. Harrison and Cooper used the money to purchase much-needed items off our Wish List. Our most-needed items are laundry pods, paper towels, Ziploc bags, cereal cups and more! These items are essential and help to ease the burden families face when caring for their sick or injured children.
We want to thank the Layacan family for their big-hearted donation!
