About Amara’s Butterflies
Gee Antapli-Zeb is the founder of Amara’s Butterflies Foundation, created in loving memory of her daughter, Amara Mia Zeb, who passed away in 2016. The foundation’s mission is to bring smiles, comfort, and support to families with hospitalized children.
Gee has personally walked the journey that so many families face. During Amara’s hospitalization, Ronald McDonald House became her safe haven—offering a place to rest, eat, shower, and recharge without ever having to leave the hospital. This support allowed her to remain by her children’s side for 134 days in the NICU and another 30 days in the PICU. That profound experience shaped Gee’s commitment to ensuring other families in crisis receive the same care, dignity, and comfort she was given.
For nearly a decade, Gee’s family and friends have dedicated their time and resources to carrying on Amara’s legacy. Through Amara’s Butterflies Foundation, Gee has helped provide vital support to families at Ronald McDonald House for close to nine years. Every donation has directly benefited children and their families through the Ronald McDonald House Family Rooms at Stony Brook Children’s Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park. Beyond fundraising, the foundation honors Amara’s life by fostering love, compassion, and community through ongoing acts of kindness and generosity—impacting thousands of families at Stony Brook Children’s, Cohens Children’s Medical Center and beyond.
Outside of her philanthropic work, Gee is a devoted mother, entrepreneur, and seasoned medical professional. She has over 14 years of experience as a certified physician assistant specializing in family medicine. She is the proud owner of ARVIA Med Spa in Suffolk County, where she combines her medical expertise with her passion for aesthetics and wellness.
Gee is also the co-owner of Stat ACLS, an American Heart Association training center in Patchogue, which provides healthcare providers with the essential skills needed to perform life-saving codes. In addition, she is the co-founder of Sentra Enterprises, a company that encompasses a full-service medical billing operation and a comprehensive management firm supporting family medicine practices. Together with her dedicated team of over 15 employees, Gee continues to grow these ventures while remaining deeply committed to serving and giving back to her community at every opportunity.
Gee credits much of her ability to serve others to the unwavering love and support of her family, friends, and children. Gee is especially thankful for her longtime nanny, Ann, whose devotion and care have been instrumental in helping her balance the demands of motherhood, her career, and her commitment to the community.
When she’s not working or organizing foundation events, Gee enjoys traveling to Florida to spend time with her extended family and her children, embracing the calming environment she has created there for them. She loves spending time with her children—her two sons, Amir (11) and Kadir (Amara’s twin, 9), and her youngest daughter, Navia (5). Whether at home in Patchogue or away with family, Gee treasures these moments most, continuing to build a life and legacy rooted in love, service, and community.
Her guiding belief is that even the smallest act of kindness can send ripples of hope, love, and healing into the lives of others. At Amara’s Butterflies Foundation, our motto is simple: to bring a smile—even if only for a moment—to every child, infant, or family facing the challenges of hospitalization. Striving to keep Amara’s legacy and name alive is what drives Gee to do everything that she does.
