On Tuesday, July 22nd, kids and families came downstairs to a display of home goods, toys, dinner, and smiles thanks to L&A Babysitters. For the 6th year, L&A Babysitters, led by Liz Toro and Alyssa Molina, have generously donated their time, talents and funds to support families as part of a Christmas in July celebration.

L&A Babysitters has over 70 local, Long Island-based sitters who support families’ childcare needs. Over the course of several months, Liz and Alyssa facilitate a donation drive as part of the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro wishlist. Folks helped to bring in laundry pods, dish soap, personal care items, and more.
Holiday Magic during a Heatwave
It’s no surprise that the toys were a big hit! During the Christmas in July celebration, kids and family members enjoyed the toys and stuffed animals. We felt a bit of holiday magic on this hot summer day.
L&A Babysitters also donated hot, fresh food for the families. Parents could make their children a plate and sit down as a family. As children played with the toys and ate, Liz reflected on the meaning of their day of service:

Supporting Families Year-Round
Summer vacation for little ones means more kids at Ronald McDonald House. While we love caring for families whose children are receiving medical care, the summer months can put a strain on our resources. Every meal, wish list drive, and toy drive goes a long way in reaching our families and delivering support to those who need it most.
