Jack Norris, known to so many as Jackie Boy, was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML) in early January 2025 at just three years old. The weight of this diagnosis touched every member of his family deeply, shaking them to their core. Yet even in this difficult time, the Norris family has found strength in coming together, just as they always have.
The Ronald McDonald House has provided the Norris family with the support they need to fight for Jack. Volunteers and staff at the House have offered them a warm, supportive, home away from home while Jack receives medical care. Throughout Jack’s hospitalization, Tara and her husband Kevin had to split their time to be with their daughters and son. The Ronald McDonald House became a sanctuary and for Jack’s older siblings, it became known as “The Clubhouse.”
Team Jack Pack
In March, Team Jack Pack took over the Ronald McDonald House! Over 80 friends, loved ones, neighbors, and family members joined up at the 2025 Walk of Love & 5K. The Walk of Love is the largest community event at Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro, bringing past families and community members for a day of fun, face painting, cotton candy, bounce houses and more. Team Jack Pack raised over $12,000 for families like theirs who may be battling cancer or other serious illnesses at Ronald McDonald House.
Keeping Their Family Together
The Norris’ two older daughters, Kayla and Ashley (6) and their youngest Claire (2) love coming to the Ronald McDonald House to play in the Play Room and grab a snack. The Norris family doesn’t have to worry about a long commute or hotel costs—and they are walking distance from the hospital. The Ronald McDonald House has not only provided a comfortable bedroom and hot meals, but also emotional support when they’ve needed it. The House has allowed them to put all their focus on being there for Jack, and the girls.
Jack isn’t facing this battle alone. Because of the Ronald McDonald House, he has an incredible network of loved ones surrounding him with unwavering support, encouragement, and most importantly, love. Each of his family members (and his growing fan base!) is committed to being there for him every step of this journey, holding him in their hearts and standing ready to help in any way they can.
