About the Petruccelli Family

In the 1950s the Petruccelli family was amongst many who took the leap of faith to pursue the American dream. Six brothers and one sister were born and raised in Santi Cosma e Damiano, a small town in the province of Latina (Lazio), Italy. Biagio, Antonio, Damiano, Settimio, Maria, Alessandro, and Giulio were brought up in a large, but tight-knit family.

One-by-one they made the journey to New York, learning from one-another how to be barbers and hair stylists. They learned a trade that would change their family’s trajectory. Together the siblings opened their first barber shop in Queens, NY, Three Brothers Barber. Over time they continued to expand their footprint, opening several more barber shops and hair salons in the area. It wasn’t very long before they were amongst industry innovators and leaders. The siblings even competed in hair styling competitions, including as members of the United States Styling Team.

In the 1960s the siblings opened the doors to Petruccelli International Beauty and Barber Supply, launching into the global beauty supply industry. A few years later, the Petruccelli siblings founded PIBBS Industries, a manufacturing company providing an array of hair care products and equipment for barber and beauty salons. The Petruccelli vision continued to grow and evolve, leading to additional, globally recognized companies including Turbo Power Inc., through which they began importing professional hair dryers from Italy, and more. With the help and dedication of their spouses and children, the Petruccelli family revolutionized the hair and beauty industry.

Beyond their work in the hair and beauty industry, the Petruccelli family is passionate about soccer. The Petruccelli siblings sponsored a soccer club in the NY Italian-American Soccer League, S.S. Cosma & Damiano Soccer Club, named after their hometown. In addition to this club, the siblings contributed countless hours and support to the Auburndale Soccer Club in Queens, NY to help develop youth soccer.

Throughout the years the Petruccelli family has committed to supporting charitable organizations, especially those that assist individuals and families facing healthcare challenges, including AHRC Nassau, Relay for Life (American Cancer Society), Wigs & Wishes, and Fred’s Team (Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center). This year the Petruccelli family is thrilled to support other local families through the Ronald McDonald House Charities New York Metro.

The Petruccelli siblings are proud spouses, parents, grandparents, and great grandparents. The whole Petruccelli family is honored to support the Ronald McDonald House New York Metro. The Petruccelli legacy lives on because of their commitment to family and supporting others.
