The Best Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich Ever!

Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and just wanted a bite to eat?

When Aaron, who was recovering from multiple surgeries, woke his Dad, Glen, at 2:00 a.m. during their stay at the Ronald McDonald House, they weren’t quite sure what to do. Very far from home and in an unfamiliar space, they sleepily made their way down to the kitchen.

A very special volunteer named Jim found them looking around the pantry. He sat them down and rustled up two classic peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Aaron and his Dad. Aaron said it was the best sandwich ever and now it’s one of Glen’s favorite memories from the House.

When families uproot their lives and travel to find the best medical care for their children, they leave everything familiar behind. Even the everyday things — like a late-night snack — become a hurdle.

Your support — from event sponsorships and donations made throughout the year to collecting wish list items — help families do everyday things and spend more time together, even far from home.

Get inspiration for simple and fun ways you and your team can raise money for families like Aaron’s. In the end, small gifts add up to a lot together. You can give families time for those everyday things — even the best peanut butter and jelly sandwich made far from home!
