Anthony’s Red Shoe FUNd Run Held at Stony Brook University

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the second annual Anthony’s Red Shoe FUNd Run, took place at Stony Brook University. The run was a heartfelt event supporting Ronald McDonald House’s efforts to build a new House in Suffolk County. Held on the university’s campus, Anthony’s Red Shoe FunD Run brought together Stony Brook students, faculty, staff and families. The event was founded and organized by Lisa Muratori, PT, EdD, professor at the School of Health Professions at Stony Brook University, in memory of her late nephew, Anthony Petrocelli, who passed away from an aggressive form of cancer.

The Origin of Anthony’s Red Shoe FUNd Run

Throughout Anthony’s hospitalization, Dr. Muratori and her family often turned to the Ronald McDonald Family room for rest and comfort. Their experience with Ronald McDonald Family Room inspired her to launch Anthony’s Red Shoe FunD Run. Dr. Muratori’s goal is to help bring a Ronald McDonald House to Stony Brook.
